Job Summary:
The Day Porter position at Superior Maintenance is a vital role that requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual to maintain the cleanliness and organization of our facilities. As a Day Porter, you will be responsible for ensuring that our campus area is clean and tidy, and that all assigned tasks are completed with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim to maintain a high level of aesthetic appeal.
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Sweep floors and spot sweep carpets to maintain a clean and tidy appearance.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies to extend their lifespan and maintain a professional atmosphere.
- Dust furniture and equipment to prevent dust buildup and maintain a clean environment.
- Polish metalwork to maintain a high level of shine and durability.
- Wash soiled areas of walls and woodwork to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
- Wash windows, door panels, and sills to maintain a clear view and prevent water damage.
- Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
- Transport trash and waste to disposal areas to maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Replenish bathroom supplies to ensure a clean and hygienic environment.
- Request additional cleaning services to be performed as needed.
- Report cleaning emergencies to ensure prompt attention and resolution.
Requirements:
- Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions, and to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
