Job Title: Of Counsel Tax Attorney

We are seeking an experienced Of Counsel Tax Attorney to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our tax law practice, you will provide expert guidance and representation to clients on a wide range of tax matters.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert guidance and representation to clients on tax matters, including income tax, real estate taxation, trusts/estates, and pass-thru entities.
  • Develop and implement customized tax strategies for clients, taking into account their specific needs and objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, and advise clients on how to navigate these changes.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their tax needs and provide responsive and reliable legal advice and representation.
Requirements:
  • At least five years of experience at a law firm or accounting firm performing income tax work, with experience in a combination of real estate taxation, trusts/estates, and pass-thru entities.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of Microsoft Office, with a particular emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax concepts to clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Authorship of an IRS Circular 230-compliant tax opinion.
  • Demonstrable history of direct client contact, project management, or supervision and training of younger staff.
  • Master of Laws in Taxation from a reputable institution.
  • Dual-licensed attorney/CPAs.
  • Experience performing employee benefits taxation work.
  • Experience in areas such as Qualified Opportunity Zones, fiduciary income tax, cross-border corporate tax, taxation of bankruptcy, or taxation of mergers and acquisitions.
