Job Title: Staff Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Psychologist to join our team at the University of Georgia. As a key member of our Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) team, you will provide primary, secondary, and tertiary services to eligible members of the UGA community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical evaluation and counseling/psychotherapy to groups, couples, and individuals, including crisis counseling and consultation.
  • Provide clinical supervision of new staff, as well as treatment planning, coordinating, referral, and documentation.
  • Active involvement in all training programs, including supervision of trainees, and educational activities, such as seminars, case presentations, and consultation.
  • Provide clinical workshops and liaison services to students, student groups, and members of the UGA community.
  • Actively seek to improve services to eligible members of the UGA community, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and attend staff and other assigned meetings/committees.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in counseling or clinical psychology or a closely related field from an APA-approved (or equivalent) Psychology program.
  • Must initiate the licensure process before the date of hire.
  • Must successfully complete the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) within six months of hire.
  • Must complete all licensure requirements within 12 months of hire.
  • 2 or more years of experience in the evaluation and treatment of individuals whose age and psychological development is similar to traditional and non-traditional college students.
  • Skill and/or interest in preventative psychological education and outreach programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Full independent licensure within the State of Georgia by the date of first employment.
  • 1 year or more of experience working in a college counseling center.
  • 2 or more years working in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Training and 2 years or more of experience working with individuals from traditionally underserved populations – first generation, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, Latinx, rural, veterans.
  • Training and 2 years or more of experience working in a setting involved in the training and supervision of counseling and psychotherapy to students in training or post-graduate professionals.
