HealthPartners is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Gastroenterology team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Assess and manage patient health status, including obtaining a complete health history, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient preferences and needs.
- Prescribe medications and treatments, including nutrition, exercise, and traditional medical therapies.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, including referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers.
- Participate in peer review and quality improvement activities to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field.
- Current Minnesota PA license.
- NCCPA or AANP certification.
- Approved or eligible for approval by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice for prescription writing privileges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in GI, Med-Surgical, or SICU.
- No lifting requirements are identified, but the potential for lifting exists.
- Adequate vision, hearing, and tactile motor skills.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
- Assess the health status of individuals/families as appropriate.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Prescribe medications and treatments.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in peer review and quality improvement activities.
