Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Chemical Operator to join our team at LANXESS Americas. As a key member of our Shipping department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient unloading of hazardous chemicals, loading and packaging of finished products, and operation of a chemical processing unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform field work to ensure products are manufactured, packaged, and loaded according to directives given by supervision.
  • Safely operate forklift, trailer mover/yard goat, and other mobile equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance.
  • Perform labor-type duties such as safety stand-by work, vessel entries, material handling, and plant clean-up.
Requirements
  • Must have a high regard for safety and the environment, including the ability to wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for general labor-type activities.
  • Must have the aptitude and willingness to learn chemical manufacturing principles and follow stringent safety standards that are associated with chemical processing.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required. Advanced education or experience is a plus including D.O.T. or HAZWOPER certification.
  • Strong preference will be given to individuals who have prior experience working in a manufacturing, industrial and/or other safety-sensitive industry.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to following production, quality and safety protocol.
  • Excellent attendance record. Must be dependable and a team player.
