Position Overview

The Anesthesia Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting anesthesia professionals by managing supplies, maintaining cleanliness in work areas, and conducting regular inventory checks of anesthesia materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and Maintenance: Assist in the setup and breakdown of anesthesia areas across various locations. Ensure all necessary supplies, including anesthetic agents, are readily available and properly stored. Maintain cleanliness of anesthesia machines and related equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels in all anesthesia locations, ensuring that supplies are stocked and monitored for expiration dates. Collaborate with leadership to adjust inventory levels as needed.
  • Support to Anesthesia Team: Respond promptly to requests from Anesthesiology physicians and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) during procedures. Maintain a clean environment to facilitate efficient turnover between cases.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance to new team members on the proper use and care of anesthesia equipment and supplies, ensuring adherence to departmental standards.
  • Compliance and Safety: Follow infection control policies for the disposal of contaminated materials and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Attendance: Regular attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a hospital setting with surgical or anesthesia equipment is preferred. Phlebotomy experience is also preferred.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
