Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized patient care by assisting with therapy modalities and procedures according to physician prescriptions and Physical Therapist treatment plans.
- Deliver patient education that is tailored to the patient's needs, taking into account their personal, cultural, spiritual, and social background.
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, meeting expected timeframes.
- Identify and address patient discharge needs, including documentation, communication with the care team, and recommendations for follow-up services in conjunction with the Physical Therapist.
- Ensure patient safety by identifying potential risks and implementing measures to provide a safe environment, including protection of self and others.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives by contributing ideas and suggestions to enhance processes, procedures, and productivity.
- Engage in professional development through clinical education, mentoring programs, and continuous learning to enhance clinical and professional competencies.
- Education: Associate's degree or college diploma from an accredited institution leading to or required for a Physical Therapy Assistant license.
- Licenses/Certifications: Physical Therapist Assistant License (PTA) from the California State license and Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Experience: Work or exposure to an acute care setting is highly preferred.
