Head Mechanic

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Mechanic to join our team at Sterling Grove Golf & Country Club. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our golf course equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a preventative maintenance program on all equipment, purchasing repair parts and replacement supplies as needed.
• Review expenses and purchases with the department manager for approval, placing orders for parts and supplies as required.
• Inspect, adjust, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in various types of golf course maintenance equipment.
• Perform mower grinding and sharpening, general overhauls of motors, reels, and braking systems, as well as machining and welding work for equipment repair.
• Maintain records of preventative maintenance, repairs made, and parts ordered.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest knowledge of light and heavy construction and maintenance equipment, as well as automotive apparatus.
• Diagnose mechanical troubles and schedule preventative maintenance work as needed.
• Help control costs and expenses related to parts purchases, inventory levels, service work, fuel inventories, and other related items.
• Ensure safe work practices are incorporated into job performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certificate from a college or technical school.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a head mechanic or assistant mechanic.

Other Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license and mechanics certificate from a Gas and Diesel Engine Training Seminar.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
