Grinder Technician

We are seeking a skilled Grinder to join our team at Precision Castparts Corp. As a Grinder, you will be responsible for performing belt grinding operations to remove gates from a variety of company product castings.

• Work from shop orders and instructions to smooth and grind a variety of gates, exercising care to avoid removal of casting features and obtaining required smoothness and blending.
• Setup grinder and grind angled surfaces, setting and positioning grinding jigs to control radii and other features as necessary.
• Detect and report improper operation and unusual conditions to proper supervision, maintaining work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform a variety of other tasks of equal or lesser complexity as assigned by supervisor.

• Perform belt grinding operations on a wide variety of parts with some close tolerances involved, requiring the use of some judgment to select proper abrasive belt, check work to maintain tolerances and finish, and perform other duties effectively.
• Continuous mental and visual attention in material removal, selection of belts, checking parts, maintaining finishing and tolerances.

• 3 and up to 6 months of experience preferred.
