Job Summary:

This position reports to the Depot Manager and is responsible for operating a tilt bed and at times a heavy duty roll back, primarily making delivery and pickups of 20' and 40' shipping containers. The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of towing and be able to operate a cable winch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accident Prevention: Actively identify, correct, and/or report safety hazards to prevent accidents.
  • Cost Reduction and Efficiency: Actively identify and pursue opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Quality Management: Support the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the Sea Box Quality Policy by self-inspecting work products.
  • Cargo Security: Secure cargo for transport using slings, chain, and binders.
  • Delivery and Logistics: Deliver containers to residential areas or tight quarters, and add caster wheels to containers as needed to reposition them into warehouses.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Customer Communication: Communicate with customers about the care and maintenance of our products upon delivery.
  • Load Management: Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, and check all load-related documentation to ensure it is complete and accurate.
  • Reporting and Safety: Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles, and follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
  • Physical Demands: Lifting production objects of up to 50 lbs.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years truck driving experience required, with a good driving record and ability to pass a drug test and DOT physical.
  • Availability: Availability to work long hours, weekends, and holidays if necessary, and ability to work in all types of weather.
