Position Overview:The Lead Cost Analyst will play a crucial role in formulating precise and competitive cost assessments for commercial construction initiatives. This position demands a comprehensive grasp of commercial construction practices, outstanding analytical capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with project leaders, engineers, and clients.
Core Responsibilities:- Develop thorough cost assessments for commercial construction projects, encompassing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Examine project documentation, including plans and specifications, to create detailed estimates.
- Engage with project managers, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and completeness of estimates.
- Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities throughout the estimating process.
- Maintain an organized database of historical cost information and unit pricing.
- Review and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Contribute to the preparation of bid proposals and presentations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and advancements in commercial construction techniques and materials.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of estimating experience, particularly in commercial construction.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and industry benchmarks.
- Exceptional analytical and mathematical abilities.
- Proficiency in estimating software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) are advantageous.
