Position Overview:

The Lead Cost Analyst will play a crucial role in formulating precise and competitive cost assessments for commercial construction initiatives. This position demands a comprehensive grasp of commercial construction practices, outstanding analytical capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with project leaders, engineers, and clients.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Develop thorough cost assessments for commercial construction projects, encompassing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
  • Examine project documentation, including plans and specifications, to create detailed estimates.
  • Engage with project managers, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and completeness of estimates.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities throughout the estimating process.
  • Maintain an organized database of historical cost information and unit pricing.
  • Review and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Contribute to the preparation of bid proposals and presentations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and advancements in commercial construction techniques and materials.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of estimating experience, particularly in commercial construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and industry benchmarks.
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical abilities.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) are advantageous.
