Our hospital is a 202-bed acute care facility accredited by The Joint Commission, providing a wide range of medical services including 24/7 emergency care, cardiology, wound care, surgical services, cardiac catheterization, and imaging.

We are proud to be the only Certified Stroke Center, Accredited Chest Pain Center, and Labor and Delivery Unit in the area. Additionally, we are the only Trauma Center for 13 miles and were the first Accredited Geriatric Emergency Room in Dallas County. Our hospital has received numerous awards, including Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Awards and Straight 'A' Hospital Safety Grades from The Leapfrog Group since 2018.

As a Labor and Delivery Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will provide direct patient care within the scope of practice, directing and guiding patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a $120,000 - $150,000 annual salary, sign on bonus, generous benefits plan, substantial PTO, and continuing educational opportunities. We are committed to providing a safe environment for patients and visitors, utilizing the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
  • Maintain standards of care in the Birthplace.

Qualifications:

">
  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification.
  • NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
  • Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months.
  • AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate preferred.
