Job Summary:

The RN Clinical Nurse is an integral member of an interdisciplinary team responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Working in a clinical setting led by Nurse Managers and supported by the Shared Governance Model, the RN Clinical Nurse practices evidence-based care and research.

Adhering to the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the Code of Ethics Standards from the American Nurses Association, the RN Clinical Nurse is expected to provide individualized care, using analytical and critical thinking to ensure effective partnerships.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in clinical care, utilizing critical thinking to ensure patient care is individualized and coordinated.
  2. Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care tailored to the patient's specific characteristics, ensuring care is culturally sensitive and appropriate.
  3. Partner with patients and their families (when appropriate) to communicate updates and make the patient's goals the central focus of the care plan.
  4. Coordinate and document the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care, promoting a professional care delivery model that supports interdisciplinary collaboration.
  5. Demonstrate effective teamwork by collaborating with healthcare providers and supporting recruitment and retention initiatives to maintain a strong, inclusive healthcare team.
  6. Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research, and the shared governance process, actively contributing to improving patient care outcomes.
  7. Complete all initial and ongoing competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education.
  8. Act as a mentor or preceptor to fellow nurses, modeling professional nursing practices and contributing to a healthy work environment.
  9. Utilize evidence-based practice, participate in nursing research, and engage in performance improvement activities.
  10. Contribute to value analysis and decision-making regarding patient care products.
  11. Ensure compliance with TJC Patient Safety Goals and safety protocols, along with other legal and accreditation standards.
  12. Proactively plan for patient care across the continuum, collaborating with care managers and the healthcare team to achieve best practice outcomes.
  13. Assist in developing protocols and procedures in collaboration with the healthcare team to support efficient resource utilization and improved patient care outcomes.
Education:

Graduate from an accredited nursing school.

License/Certification:

Active Registered Nurse License.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (preferred).

Experience:

Previous clinical nursing experience preferred but not mandatory.

Required Skills:

Proficiency in the English language (reading, writing, and speaking).

Basic computer skills and ability to optimize technology for clinical care.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond decisively and respectfully during emergencies.

Time management skills and critical thinking skills rooted in evidence-based practice.
