Job Overview

Purpose and Overview:

The Logistics Specialist II is responsible for providing essential raw materials and supplies to meet production demands. This role involves picking orders, loading and unloading shipments, and accurately receiving goods using a forklift.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Execute all tasks safely, adhering to federal, state, and Litehouse regulations and policies at all times.
  2. Operate powered industrial trucks to move materials and accurately fulfill customer orders or receive vendor shipments - 80% of the time.
  3. Manually load or unload materials from pallets or lifting devices, following safety protocols and quality standards - 20% of the time.
  4. Maintain precise inventory records and manage inventory transactions continuously.
  5. Accurately receive materials into Litehouse facilities and systems on an ongoing basis.
  6. Meet attendance requirements and adhere to scheduled shifts consistently.
  7. Follow Food Safety policies and report any food safety or quality issues to a supervisor promptly.
  8. Utilize handheld scanning devices to ensure inventory accuracy and traceability.
  9. Achieve and maintain certification for operating industrial powered equipment relevant to this position.
  10. Keep work areas clean and participate in overall facility housekeeping efforts.
  11. Be available for overtime and weekend work as needed.
  12. Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Duties:

  1. This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED is strongly preferred.

Certifications: None required.

Experience: Previous forklift experience is preferred.

Attention to detail and accurate documentation skills are essential.

Self-motivated individuals who can work independently with minimal supervision are ideal.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective idea expression.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is crucial.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills to build effective working relationships are required.


Travel Requirements:

  1. No travel is required for this position.

Physical Demands:

Job involves sitting (60%), walking (30%), and standing (10%).

Requires near acuity, ordinary speech, and the ability to engage in ordinary conversation.

Manual dexterity is needed for computer keyboard use.

Lifting Requirement: Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.

Must be able to stand for extended periods, use hands for handling and reaching, and occasionally climb or balance.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Frequent repetitive tasks are expected.


Work Environment:

Temperature: Normal with potential extremes.

Humidity: Wet and humid conditions.

Noise Levels: Noisy environment.

Potential Hazards: Hazards typical of a food manufacturing facility.

Protective Equipment: Required to wear smocks, gloves, goggles, safety glasses, hearing protection, and other personal protective equipment as necessary.
