Position Purpose:
As a Surgical Technologist, you will collaborate with a team to provide exceptional patient care under the supervision of a licensed clinical professional in a clinical setting.
A Surgical Technologist is responsible for the technical duties associated with the 'scrub' role during the surgical patient's perioperative journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room and assist in patient readiness.
- Ensure rooms are equipped with the necessary instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment; manage sterile supplies and set up sterile environments for surgical procedures.
- Conduct office tests and handle administrative tasks.
- Evaluate supplies and equipment needed for procedures as dictated by the surgeon's preference card.
- Exhibit the necessary skills and knowledge to prepare an operating room with the appropriate equipment and instruments for specific surgeries.
- Alert the circulator regarding any missing or malfunctioning equipment or supplies.
- Practice cost efficiency by utilizing only the essential supplies required for each procedure.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of a surgical technician program is preferred.
- BLS certification is mandatory.
