Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Clinical Nurse for the Surgical Unit is responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care within the medical/surgical environment. This role is essential in ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care before and after surgical interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care under general supervision, employing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate effective patient care and achieve optimal health outcomes.
  • Engage with patients, their families, and significant others while upholding professional nursing standards.
  • Adapt to varying levels of supervision based on state regulations and specific healthcare settings.
  • Deliver care to adult patients undergoing surgical procedures and those receiving pharmaceutical treatments for various health conditions.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge base of diverse medical conditions encountered in the Med/Surg setting.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited institution is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program is preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the applicable state or multistate licensure in a compact state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is expected within six months of employment.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is to be obtained within six months of employment.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required within six months of employment.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification is to be completed within six months of employment.

Compensation: Competitive hourly pay rate.
