Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our Humanities Department as a Part-Time Professor in Language Arts. As an integral part of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching various courses in English, developing curriculum that aligns with our district's educational goals, and creating a supportive learning environment that fosters student engagement and success.
Your primary objective will be to deliver high-quality instruction, evaluating students effectively, assessing class content, and making necessary adjustments to address gaps and areas of growth. This is a part-time position, and teaching assignments may include a mix of day, evening, and weekend courses, both face-to-face and online.

Responsibilities- Instruct and evaluate students effectively in face-to-face, hybrid, or online classes
- Implement contemporary teaching methods that enhance learning and utilize technology to perform instructional and non-instructional duties
- Assess and evaluate class content, materials, and make changes to address gaps and areas of growth based on student needs
- Evidence of sensitivity and responsiveness to diversity within the community college student population
- Ability to instruct and evaluate students effectively in the college classroom
- Master's in English, literature, comparative literature, or composition OR Bachelor's in any of the above and Master's in linguistics, TESL, speech, education with a specialization in reading, creative writing or journalism
