The Mower Operator position involves the management of grass cutting and landscape upkeep for extensive areas of property. The role requires the operation and maintenance of various mowing and grounds care equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize standard machinery for grass maintenance, including:
• Agricultural tractors (e.g., John Deere or similar)
• Mowing decks of various sizes (9, 15, and 20 feet)
• Riding mowers
• Weed eaters and assorted hand tools - Conduct routine maintenance on all equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee inventory and management of government-provided tools and machinery.
- Coordinate mowing schedules and access with relevant range control authorities.
- Clear grounds of debris and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
- Trim and maintain shrubbery and grass around various structures and boundaries.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of experience operating similar equipment.
- Proficient in the safe operation of tractors and associated implements.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations pertaining to equipment use.
- Understanding of maintenance requirements for diverse equipment types.
- Ability to load, unload, and secure equipment effectively.
- Certification confirming qualification to operate assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with a valid NC Driver's License.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with team members and clients.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both military and civilian personnel.
- Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with various stakeholders.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in military installation environments, particularly in remote areas.
- Possession of a valid NC Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Educational Background
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Equivalent experience and demonstrated capabilities may be considered in lieu of formal education.
