Key Responsibilities
  • Manage warehouse personnel, including tracking attendance, coaching, and leading associates to achieve employee growth and development.
  • Direct warehouse activities to ensure efficient and economical utilization of facilities.
  • Maintain process management, productivity measures, and quality controls.
  • Review, track, and analyze critical success measures and compare results with targets on a regular basis.
  • Develop and plan for improvement in areas such as order filling errors, late deliveries, and overall service levels.
  • Respond to production problems by implementing solutions.
  • Enforce compliance with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety roles, and government regulations.
  • Study current and future needs of the company as it relates to the management of receiving, stocking, inventory, returns, shipping, and order filling.
  • Develop and recommend improvements to current warehouse practices to promote efficiency, accuracy, faster service, and lower costs.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of the department budget and manage to the budget.
  • Ensure cleanliness of facility.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences, or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Requires 5+ years directly related and progressively responsible experience, including 2+ years at a supervisory level.

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with distribution center associates; foster teamwork, coach, and develop employees.

Must be willing to work extended hours, take part in weekend on-call rotation, as needed, to meet productivity goals and provide emergency service to customers.

Must be willing to participate in physical inventory, as scheduled.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Good negotiating skills.

Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of warehouse operations and systems, engineered standards, and regulatory compliance matters.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and work in a production-driven environment.

Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

Knowledge of computers to operate effectively in Microsoft Office products.
