DCS Specialist

The Foster Home and Group Home Investigations Unit is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a DCS Specialist. This role involves working closely with licensing agencies, congregate care agencies, and the Office of Licensing and Regulation (OLR) to ensure the safety of children in foster and group homes.
As a DCS Specialist, you will be responsible for making decisions regarding a child's safety, risk, and well-being, using the agency's Child Safety Assessment/Strengths and Risk Assessment/Case Plan. You will gather and analyze information, interview clients, engage with families, and research family histories to create a safety plan, intervention plan, or family-centered case plan for services.

Key Responsibilities:- Makes decisions regarding a child's safety, risk, and well-being using the agency's Child Safety Assessment/Strengths and Risk Assessment/Case Plan
- Gathers and analyzes information, interviews clients, engages with families, and researches family histories to create a safety plan, intervention plan, or family-centered case plan for services
- Works closely with licensing agencies, congregate care agencies, and the Office of Licensing and Regulation (OLR) to ensure the safety of children in foster and group homes
- Resolves conflicts, negotiates with others, and handles complaints and grievances in a professional and respectful manner
- Evaluates information to determine compliance with standards, using relevant information and individual judgment to take appropriate action
- Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field
- Three years prior job experience in child welfare
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
