Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse to join our team at our ambulatory surgery center.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe and effective nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the instrument and equipment set-up for the operating room, ensuring that all necessary equipment is available and functioning properly.
  • Coordinate and oversee the operating room during surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to ensure patient safety.
  • Facilitate effective and efficient transition between surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary information is communicated to the surgical team.
  • Utilize appropriate body mechanics in moving patients to prevent injury.
  • Manage patient care and medication, including assistance with anesthesia.
  • Consistently review patient charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
  • Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
  • Valid BCLS Certification upon employment.
  • ACLS as required by facility.
  • CNOR certification preferred.

Doctors Same Day Surgery Center is a premier total joint and spine center, located in sunny Sarasota, Florida.

We serve Sarasota County and surrounding communities, performing over 400 cases a month.

Our center is AAAHC accredited and offers a range of services, including cosmetic, GYN, ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, pediatric, podiatry, urology, and infertility procedures.

We are part of the HCA Healthcare Ambulatory Surgery Division.
