Overview:
Responsible for the daily operations, ongoing upkeep, installation, and annual projects assigned to the Utilities Plumbing Department.
Tasked with the installation, repair, and maintenance of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems utilized for water distribution and wastewater management in entertainment and water facilities.
Handles maintenance of boilers, restrooms, sinks, kitchen apparatus, drains, lift stations, grease interceptors, and other related equipment necessary to support a large entertainment venue.
Also maintains Fire Systems and conducts minor repairs.Responsibilities:
Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing systems, supports, and hangers for pipes, fixtures, and equipment.
Conducts preventative maintenance (scheduled internal inspections) on water attractions and plumbing installations, along with preventative maintenance on plumbing apparatus and machinery, adhering to manufacturer and facility standards.
Tests and monitors pressure gauges for leaks to repair as necessary.Interprets blueprints and schematics to ascertain precise specifications and locations of plumbing systems.
Ensures the correct materials are utilized for installation, including type and size of piping.
Assembles pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, adhesives, plastic solvents, caulking, or soldering, brazing, and welding tools.Measures, cuts, threads, and bends pipes to required angles.
Identifies and resolves issues with water supply lines; unclogs drains safely without damaging company property.
Ensures that the steam plant (boiler) is delivering necessary steam for food preparation.
Maintains all related documentation in a timely and appropriate manner (i.e., records, reports, logs). Ensures that all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and meet specified grades according to AWWA standards, complying with all health, building, safety guidelines, and codes.
Assists in ordering parts and managing inventory of parts and equipment to anticipate needs while adhering to budget constraints.Engages and communicates with various groups and individuals, including supervisors, other facility managers and staff, co-workers, guests, vendors, contractors, inspectors, etc.
Provides guest service in accordance with company standards, including initiating guest interactions, responding to inquiries, and providing directions.
Maintains cleanliness and safety in the assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with safety guidelines and requirements, reporting any unsafe or unusual conditions to the supervisor.
Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to fulfill business needs.Adheres to attendance requirements as outlined in company policies.
Follows the company's code of conduct, including grooming and appearance standards as specified in employee guidelines and other facility-specific policies and procedures.
Performs additional duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Experience in themed entertainment parks is advantageous.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to pass a mandatory or random drug test, per company policy, unless prohibited by law.
Ability to pass a background check, which may include credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per company policy, unless prohibited by law.
Must be able to read blueprints and schematics, technical manuals, and policy and procedure manuals. Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including steel-toed footwear.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of plumbing regulations. Proficient in using plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers, etc.). Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to interpret bar graphs. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Related degree or vocational training preferred.
License or Certification:
Ability to obtain Journeyman Plumbing Certification if required.
Valid driver's license Canada:
Trade license or equivalent depending on trade.
Experience:
Typically requires 2-4 years of plumbing experience.
Equivalency:
Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the above requirements.
