Job Overview

Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep of both the interior and exterior of the facilities.

Key Responsibilities

The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator is expected to carry out the following essential duties:

  • Operate various machinery and tools, including forklifts, pallet jacks, riding tractors, hydraulic balers, trash compactors, snow plows, and other powered and manual tools. The incumbent must conduct pre-operation inspections and adhere to all safety protocols as per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Handle loading and unloading of equipment, materials, recyclables, and perform other material handling tasks.
  • Maintain the premises, which includes washing, sweeping, trash collection, painting, trimming, and snow removal.
  • Perform additional maintenance tasks as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; must effectively interact at all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese) are advantageous.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Possession of a Powered Industrial Truck license and a valid driver's license.

Physical Demands

The role involves various physical activities:

  • Seeing: Ability to read reports and operate a computer.
  • Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate effectively.
  • Standing/Walking: Required frequently.
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Required as necessary.
  • Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Required as necessary.
  • Finger/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type, and use a phone system.

Work Environment

This position is situated within a food manufacturing production environment, which may involve wet and cold conditions in certain areas.
