Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing medically prescribed radiographic procedures with the highest level of accuracy and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform radiographic procedures in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
- Ensure accurate and efficient processing of patient images, including transmission to PACS and generation of high-quality hard copies.
- Maintain a clean and organized radiographic area, restocking supplies as needed and notifying supervisors of any shortages.
- Collaborate with medical staff to clarify exam requirements and ensure accurate patient information.
- Recognize and respond to medical emergencies, notifying nurses, PAs, and MDs as necessary.
- Adhere to radiation safety procedures, using gonadal shielding and restricting beams to minimize patient exposure.
- Document patient information, exam results, and any issues or concerns in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in quality control checks of X-ray equipment and report any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with special projects, reports, and activities as needed.
- Provide exceptional patient care, explaining procedures and equipment to patients, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
- New York State license or temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiology.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- High School diploma or equivalent.
