Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Office Specialist to join our team at DHR Health. As a key member of our Physician Practice, you will provide clinical/administrative expertise to ensure all patients receive high-quality, efficient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors, providing excellent customer service and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take accurate messages, and route them to the appropriate party.
  • Make appointments for new and established patients, contact patients to confirm their appointments, and note cancelled/rescheduled appointments.
  • Work at the reception desk, checking patients in/out, documenting registration, and communicating with patients/providers.
  • Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments, reminding patients of upcoming appointments and tracking missed appointments.
  • Forward telephone calls, verify insurance, and retrieve/file medical records as needed.
  • Collect co-pays, cash from patients, and get authorization on credit cards.
  • Perform inventory of supplies/equipment, enter charges/payments, and balance daily tasks.

Requirements:

  • High School/GED preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office suite knowledge.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish required.
  • Minimum one year receptionist experience and one year experience verifying insurance.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
