Job Summary

At Prisma Health, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of medicine. As a Physician - Chief of Pulmonology, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, you will play a vital role in our mission to inspire health and serve with compassion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, prevent, or treat disease, defects, or injuries, and recommend or prescribe treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental, or functional ailments or defects.
  • Rend medical treatment to patients consistent with generally accepted professional standards of care, without regard to their ability to pay or any other factor.
  • Complete accurate, legible, and timely records of medical examinations and procedures, using Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Diseases codes.
  • Provide after-hours call coverage, working collaboratively with other physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Comply with standards of accepted medical practice, managed care organizations, and other payors, including Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Enhance clinical skills through ongoing continuing medical education, meeting certification and state licensing board requirements.
  • Participate in non-revenue generating activities that advance the Vision and Mission of Prisma Health, such as serving on committees, community outreach, and teaching.
  • Assist in obtaining and maintaining licenses, permits, and other authorizations, as well as achieving accreditation standards.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
  • Successful completion of residency and board certification or eligibility.
  • Medical staff privileges and required certifications, registrations, and licenses, including a South Carolina Medical License, South Carolina Controlled Substance License, and Drug Enforcement Agency Number.
