Job OverviewThis part-time role as a Science Educator is designed to teach Snapology programs, promoting STEM concepts while encouraging teamwork, problem-solving skills, and creativity in students. As an Instructor, you will lead groups of up to 20 students through curriculum-guided activities, instructing them on the use of learning materials and equipment.
Responsibilities- Lead groups of students through engaging activities that promote STEM learning
- Instruct students on the proper use of educational materials and equipment
- Maintain a well-structured and organized classroom environment
- Monitor student behavior, enforcing rules and procedures to ensure a productive learning atmosphere
- Evaluate student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Prepare for each program by reviewing curriculum, watching training videos, and participating in face-to-face training sessions
- Criminal and Child Clearances must be current
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
- Education degree or teaching experience recommended; teachers pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position
- Able to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues and parents
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
This part-time role offers an estimated hourly rate of $17.50 - $22.50 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Depending on candidate availability and time of year, Instructors typically work between 6-30 hours per week.
