Position Overview

The Site Operations Supervisor is tasked with executing physically demanding duties within our hardscape installation crew.

This role involves the use of various hand and power tools, site preparation, trench digging, debris removal, and waste management.

The Site Operations Supervisor may provide assistance to fellow craft workers and other supervisory personnel.

This position is non-exempt, offering full-time hours from Monday to Friday, with occasional off-hours and weekend shifts due to seasonal variations and weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Executing landscape, maintenance, and construction activities on outdoor projects as directed by management.
2. Collaborating with Sales and Management to define project scope and assess equipment and material requirements.
3. Interpreting blueprints and landscape designs to facilitate project layout and installation.
4. Overseeing, training, and motivating a crew of 2 to 3 members to uphold safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

5. Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and incident reporting procedures, while addressing issues with colleagues, management, or human resources.

6. Engaging in hands-on work alongside team members to complete projects, including loading trucks, transporting materials, and operating landscaping machinery.

7. Managing project budgets and timelines, including material cost tracking, accuracy of crew time sheets, daily job status communication, customer satisfaction, and ongoing training for assigned crew members.

8. Performing opening and closing tasks.
9. Participating in Snow Operations, which includes developing snow plans, managing areas during snow events, and/or operating snow removal equipment. Snow Operations may require hours outside of the regular schedule.

Additional Duties

- Carrying out other job-related tasks as assigned, such as light maintenance on equipment, inventory record-keeping, or maintaining cleanliness in designated areas.

Minimum Qualifications

- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state driver's license prior to employment.
- A combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the required work.
- Familiarity with the proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies in heavy/highway construction.
- Knowledge of first aid and applicable safety measures.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily tasks according to the work schedule.

- Capability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform strenuous physical labor under challenging field conditions.

- Proficient in both oral and written communication.
- Understanding of safety protocols for equipment and tools.
- Previous supervisory experience, including the ability to provide written and verbal instructions.
- Dependable attendance and consistency in meeting work schedules.
