Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Physics courses at Owens Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, and managing effective instructional activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach college-level and pre-college level Science Composition courses and Science related courses
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations
  • Create and maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide activities, including workshops and training sessions
  • Demonstrate professionalism, enthusiasm for teaching and learning, and commitment to student success
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Physics or related field
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles of Physics to teach courses from basic Physics to Calculus-based Physics
  • Familiarity with instructional and course management software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with small and large groups
  • Proficiency in designing and grading tests, creating effective instructional materials, and using technology to enhance instruction

  • Engage in department-related activities, including attending workshops, training sessions, and development activities
  • Teach classes, develop syllabi, and conduct classes during scheduled times
  • Create and maintain assignments, evaluative measures, and records
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators
