Job Summary

The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Medical City Weatherford provides a comprehensive transition-to-practice experience for new graduate nurses. This paid program is designed to support the development of clinical and critical thinking skills, while promoting a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and document the administration of care in the patient medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient response, and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, anticipating patient needs, and resolving them proactively.
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of employment
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
  • No previous experience required
