Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in Maywood, California.

Job Description

Specialty: Speech Language Pathology

Discipline: Therapy

Duration: Ongoing, 20 hours per week

Shift: 8 hours, days

Employment Type: Staff

Responsibilities
  1. Administer diagnostic tests and provide individualized treatment to adults and children for a variety of communication disorders, voice and swallowing impairment, and neurological defects.
  2. Advise physicians of test results and recommend and implement appropriate treatments.
  3. Monitor patient progress and collaborate with physicians when altering treatment programs.
  4. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and participate in the development of department policies and procedures.
  5. Develop and present in-service programs in the area of specialty.
  6. Perform diagnostic clinical swallowing evaluations and interpret and report results to referring physicians and medical staff.
  7. Participate in the design and implementation of therapy programs addressing speech, language, voice, and swallowing problems.
  8. Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
  9. Treat speech and language impairments, including functional articulatory disorders, stuttering, voice problems, delayed speech, and organic disorders.
  10. Interpret findings and treatment to patients, families, teachers, or other concerned parties and provide guidance and counseling.
  11. Administer treatment in individual or group sessions and refer patients to specialists as needed.
Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or Ph.D. in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program required.
  • Speech-Language Pathology Required Professional Experience License - Temporary (California) required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support required at hire.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.

Additional Requirements:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and utilize theories, principles, practices, techniques, and methods of Speech Therapy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
