Role Summary: The Surgery Scheduler plays a vital role in supporting the physician's efforts in patient care by managing the scheduling of surgical procedures and providing essential technical and clinical assistance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • General Duties:
    • Participate in departmental, clinic, or organizational meetings as required.
    • Exhibit sound judgment in addressing any questionable findings or concerns.
    • Collaborate positively and effectively with team members.
    • Adapt to changing circumstances by reprioritizing tasks as necessary.
    • Complete mandatory annual training programs.
    • Understand and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Specific Responsibilities:
    • Conduct pre-operative consultations with patients to finalize documentation and obtain necessary consents, while educating them about procedure logistics.
    • Perform Medical Assistant duties, including but not limited to casting, wound assessments, dressing changes, patient intakes, and managing patient flow.
    • Assist the physician by managing personal and professional schedules, arranging travel, and supporting presentations and certification processes.
    • Facilitate outreach efforts to educational institutions, primary care providers, and athletic organizations.
    • Act as a liaison for trainers, coaches, and athletes, ensuring effective communication.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to address marketing needs.
    • Maintain adequate inventory of office and medical supplies.
    • Assist with requests related to physical therapy, work absence, and school documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations regarding biohazardous waste disposal.
    • Coordinate scheduling for outpatient testing and pre-certification processes.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:

Candidates must possess the ability to hear and communicate effectively, see both near and far, read and comprehend information, and perform physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking, reaching, and handling objects. The role requires the ability to lift unassisted up to 50 lbs, with an average lifting requirement of 25-50 lbs.
