About the Role:

The Dietary Aide plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment at Summit BHC. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional service to clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wash and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes to ensure a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Assist cooking staff in meal preparation, including mixing, measuring, cutting, and stirring ingredients.
  • Unload and stock storage areas and coolers/freezers during food deliveries.
  • Serve food to clients and staff at the serving counter.
  • Stock consumable products, napkins, cups, plastic ware, condiments, and other essentials.
  • Clean dining areas, floors, tables, seats, and beverage stations after meals.
  • Assist with planning and preparing snacks, floor stock, late trays, salads, desserts, beverages, bread, and condiments for serving and delivery.
  • Set up steam tables to make them attractive and easily served in standardized portions.
  • Service and restock food throughout the serving period, communicating with cooks to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Prepare leftover food for proper storage and assist with cleaning steam tables and pans.
  • Transport, sort, and wash dishes from dining rooms and units using the dish machine.
  • Keep the dish room, utility room, and pot and pan area clean and orderly, free from standing water, and transport trash to the dumpster.
  • Provide information to nursing staff regarding client responses to food.
  • Adhere to menu compliance, special diet compliance, and report any dietary non-compliance or concerns to the dietician, supervisor, or manager.
  • Assist with receiving and checking in food/supplies to ensure proper handling and storage.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • One or more years' experience in food service roles in preparing food for institutions, such as schools, facilities, or cafeterias, preferred.
  • Understanding of safe food handling procedures.
  • Ability to operate dishwashers, stoves, ovens, mixers, and other related equipment.
  • SERV Safe Certification or similar food safety certification, where required by the state or facility.
