Activity Therapy Coordinator

Position Summary

The Activity Therapy Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing therapeutic activities and programs to enhance the emotional, cognitive, and social well-being of patients in a psychiatric hospital. This role will collaborate with the clinical team to integrate recreational and activity interventions into the treatment plan, focusing on education, skill building, and milieu engagement in recovery activities.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement therapeutic activities and programs to promote patient recovery, resiliency, and independence.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to integrate recreational and activity interventions into the treatment plan.
  • Develop and implement educational programs to enhance patient knowledge and skills.
  • Design and implement creative programming to promote patient engagement and participation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or a related field.
  • Two years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting, with at least one year of experience applying activity therapy methods and techniques.
  • Licensed or certified in activity therapy discipline, preferred.
