About the Role

Hazelett Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the R&D Engineering and Design Engineering departments, this individual will be responsible for combining mechanical, electrical, heat transfer, and automation functions to produce materials for various applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Development: Foster a culture of creative product conception and development, driving innovation and growth within the company.
  • Problem-Solving: Diagnose and address product problems in prototyping, production, and in the field, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Design Validation: Develop and direct testing of design concepts to validate designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and related documentation, including project outlines, item creation, bills of material, engineering change orders, and report preparation.
  • Supplier Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers on component specifications and selection, ensuring seamless integration with company systems.
  • Travel and Commissioning: Occasionally travel domestically and internationally to commission and service casting equipment at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong background in machine design and automation.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead small projects and teams, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks and other relevant design software, with a strong understanding of geometric tolerancing, standard design conventions, and machine design.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of structures, materials, joining, rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, and load/stress analysis.
