Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team at Equiliem Healthcare. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.
About the Role
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with an hour lunch. The contract length is 13 weeks, with possible extensions.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties within the medical assistant scope of practice to ensure quality patient care.
- Complete required documentation in the electronic health record or other modality.
- Patient care activities including vitals, venipuncture, sputum and urine collections, immunizations, and tuberculin skin testing.
- Verify dental, behavioral, and medical health information with outside healthcare organizations.
- Conduct office duties, including copying, filing, scanning, scheduling, and document preparation.
- Respond to and direct clinical calls effectively and professionally in-person, telephonically, and online.
- Assist with patient education.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information in all communication and interactions.
Requirements
- Two or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Experience performing venipuncture and administering injections or vaccines.
- Experience using electronic medical records.
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- Bilingual.
