Sanitarian I

The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is seeking a highly skilled Sanitarian I to join our team. As a Sanitarian I, you will be responsible for inspecting facilities to ensure compliance with the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance, the Frozen Dessert Manufacturers Act, and other relevant regulations.

• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to determine compliance with regulations.
• Collect samples of finished products, single service containers, raw milk, water, chilled water, and glycol for laboratory analysis.
• Conduct sampling surveillance activities, including formal training, testing, and field evaluation of certified samplers, receivers, and milk haulers.
• Investigate complaints and respond to public requests for information and inquiries relative to milk and dairy products.
• Prepare and submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.

• Attend work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires safe operation of a state-owned vehicle or personal vehicle to conduct state business and an acceptable driving record must be maintained.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant experience in environmental health or a related field.
