Position Overview:
The Medical Intensive Care Units (MICU) at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus cater to patients requiring high-acuity critical care due to various medical conditions. As a Registered Nurse (RN) in this setting, you will engage in a variety of critical procedures, including bronchoscopy, endoscopy, emergent intubations, and central line placements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care in line with established protocols and policies.
- Implement and oversee patient care plans.
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions effectively.
- Evaluate and adjust care plans to achieve desired outcomes.
- Serve as the primary coordinator for multidisciplinary patient care.
- Administer medications and treatments as per nursing protocols.
- Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
- Provide educational resources to patients and families, ensuring understanding of care processes.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred for critical care areas.
