Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Women's Residential Program at the Lake County Health Department. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct care to clients, including crisis intervention and triage, and participate in developing treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a triage nurse for admissions to the program
  • Provide professional nursing care, including administering medications, according to physician's orders
  • Recognize and interpret symptoms of clients' conditions, report to appropriate personnel, and assist with remedial measures
  • Monitor the collection of urine specimens according to Standard precautions
  • Maintain clinical charts, including documentation of observations, medications, and treatments
  • Participate as a team member at staff interviews and provide input regarding the stability of the client's physical condition
  • Arrange clinic appointments, chest x-rays, laboratory work, and other medication appointments
  • Make arrangements for the medical transfer of patients to other treatment facilities, as necessary
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in nursing or equivalent experience
  • One year of experience in general nursing care, with a preference for experience in chemical dependency
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Illinois, or eligible for licensure by reciprocity within six months of employment
