Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract and Financial Analyst to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. This role will play a critical part in supporting our enterprise-wide, unregulated clinical service contracting efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and analyze financial models to assess the viability of third-party payor contracts.
  • Prepare financial and statistical reports for third-party payor contracts and assist in the development of business plans.
  • Analyze fee schedules and reimbursement methodologies to identify trends and optimize contract performance.
  • Maintain a contracting database to track UMMS system-wide entities and contracted payors.
  • Provide analytical support for the development of long-term financial forecasts and the implementation of new reports and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with EPIC payment processes and patient estimator procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Payer Relations & Contracting team and UMMS business offices to provide analytical and technical support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in financial and data analysis, with a preference for healthcare finance experience.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and commercial payer reimbursement methodologies, as well as CPT and HCPCS.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing programs, and finance-related software.
  • Ability to teach others and act as a department resource of expertise.
  • Knowledge of payer contracts and terminology.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate complex financial data.
