Quality Inspector – Level 1


The Quality Inspector – Level 1 role is integral to our operations, reporting directly to the Quality Supervisor. In this position, you will conduct thorough inspections of products and support quality audits.

This entry-level opportunity provides a pathway for career growth within the organization. Night shift options are available (continental shift 7pm-7am).

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform initial inspections, receiving inspections, and in-process evaluations.
2. Conduct product and LPA audits.
3. Utilize manual gauging tools and operate CMM as necessary.
4. Inspect incoming materials according to established receiving inspection protocols.
5. Assess products using visual aids.
6. Complete required documentation and forms.
7. Understand TS processes for managing nonconforming materials, including identification and inspection protocols.
8. Undertake additional tasks as required to support both internal and external clients.
9. Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Previous experience in high-pressure die casting (HPDC) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) including histograms, X and R charts, and Cpk.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering specifications.
- Proficient in understanding company procedure manuals.
- Skilled in using measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
- Capable of measuring or weighing products to evaluate compliance with quality standards; basic math skills are essential.
- Ability to resolve discrepancies and identify product errors using technical expertise.
- Propose continuous improvement initiatives to quality management.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with supervisors and coordinate work.
- Work alongside operators to monitor production and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various departments.
- Proficient in using computer applications for quality monitoring.
- Commitment to ongoing learning to stay updated with advancements in the field.
- CMM experience is preferred.
