Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Reading Instructor/ELL to join our team at Equus Workforce Solutions. As a Reading Instructor/ELL, you will play a critical role in helping students achieve improved standardized testing scores in reading and creating a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to promote student motivation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver instruction using provided curriculum resources and develop new/updated curriculum as needed to meet the needs of our students.
  • Establish a high degree of student/instructor rapport and create a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to promote student motivation.
  • Maintain a high degree of accountability within the classroom setting to allow for maximum learning and document student attendance, performance, progress, and behavior in a timely manner and within program guidelines.
  • Report any deficiencies to manager and hold students accountable for following Center's dress code/behavioral standards of conduct.
  • Responsible for adequate classroom preparation, tracking student performance and achievement, and assisting students in setting short, intermediate, and long-term goals.
  • Maintain adequate classroom cleanliness and effectively relate to the student population and recognize student success in the classroom.
  • Adhere to all data integrity measures related to classroom instruction and testing and create and sustain positive working relationships with co-workers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and certified to teach in the state in which the center is located.
  • One year in a teaching capacity with disadvantaged youth preferred and obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Knowledge of required subject area and excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
