The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering safe and effective patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves direct patient care within the defined scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also leads patient and family education while overseeing the activities of other nursing staff, ensuring adherence to care standards in the ICU. Responsibilities include effective communication with physicians regarding any changes in patient conditions, including hemodynamic monitoring and diagnostic study results. The nurse must respond promptly and accurately to any shifts in patient status and maintain confidentiality and privacy.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS certification upon hire and maintenance of certification.
  • Completion of a Critical Care Course is preferred.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation training within 30 days of hire.
  • Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintenance of certification.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care setting, with critical care experience preferred.
  • Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
