Quality Inspection Supervisor

As a Quality Inspection Supervisor at Holtec International, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards are met in our manufacturing environment. This position requires a systematic approach to work, attention to detail, and the ability to finish assignments with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supports Quality and Operations by handling daily planning and scheduling, evaluating department workload, and determining appropriate shifts.
  • Trains and qualifies new employees, ensuring consistency in daily shift activities and adherence to work instructions and procedures.
  • Reviews and monitors customer and work order requirements on each production order, informing Project Manager or Quality Manager of discrepancies or noncompliance.
  • Ensures that inspectors follow work instructions and procedures for each job assignment, enforcing all safety and quality requirements and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments, ensuring adequate coverage to inspect materials, products, or equipment.
  • Observes work activities to ensure that operators and inspectors conform to production or processing standards, interpreting specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures as needed.
  • Keeps records of employees' attendance and hours worked, reading and analyzing charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine coverage requirements.
  • Communicates with Production and Engineering on any issues found during the process of evaluating material, ensuring that corrective actions are documented and in place.
  • Orchestrates set up and performance of destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Ensures that quality control activities are being conducted in accordance with QA Program and procedure requirements, assigning qualified personnel to handle calibration of measuring and test equipment.
  • Conducts internal surveillances as needed, performing NDE and mechanical inspections when required.
Requirements:
  • Has a systematic approach to work, detail-oriented, and able to finish assignments with minimal supervision.
  • At least two years of documented experience in mechanical (dimensional) inspection, with a minimum of SNT-TC-1A NDE Level II in Visual and Liquid Penetrant Examination.
  • Knowledge of other NDE methods, including ultrasonic examination, magnetic particle examination, and radiography, is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience is preferred, with good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills, with good teamwork skills and the ability to participate in teams.
  • Ability to be a leader, comfortable with multi-tasking, and able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, with good problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Prior experience working with coordinated measuring machines (CMM) is a plus, with the ability to travel to job sites, vendors, and remote manufacturing facilities as required.

  • The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, and use repetitive motion.
  • The associate may be exposed to adverse environmental conditions, such as in a typical warehouse or external loading areas.
  • This role can be physically demanding and may require the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
