Job Description Summary:

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit at the Thayer Center for Health.

We are looking for a dedicated professional with a passion for patient care and a commitment to excellence.

The Role:

As a CNA in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will play a vital role in assisting patients as they recover from anesthesia following surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs basic patient care activities within the scope of practice.
  • Assists patients with meeting their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
  • Greets patients and visitors, answers and screens telephone calls, and routes calls as needed.
  • Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Assists with keeping unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
Requirements:
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
  • Previous experience in PACU, surgical, or acute care setting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of post-operative care and monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused with a strong attention to detail.
