Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Chief Surety Officer to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of contract and commercial surety accounts, analyzing and supporting high-impact clients. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of the surety industry.
Main Responsibilities:
The Chief Surety Officer will provide leadership for the Bond department, offering expertise in prequalification and account strategy. They will develop and maintain relationships with Surety carriers and industry professionals, cultivate new business, and ensure client retention. Additionally, they will stay informed on market trends and attend relevant industry events.
Additional Duties:
The Chief Surety Officer will also support miscellaneous tasks as needed. This may include participating in cross-functional projects, providing training and guidance to junior team members, and contributing to the development of new business initiatives.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in the surety industry (agency experience is highly valued). They should possess a Property/Casualty License (all lines) and insurance designations, with a Bachelor's degree preferred. A strong background in Surety underwriting, knowledge of local construction environments, and active involvement in industry groups are also essential. Excellent organizational, decision-making, and relationship-building skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Erlon/Applied/EPIC systems.
Estimated Salary Range:
The estimated salary range for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
