Job Summary:

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is seeking a skilled Mechanical Equipment Technician to join our team. As a Mechanical Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and vehicles used in our facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair heavy equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with heavy equipment and vehicles.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and maintenance staff to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent.
  • Three years of full-time, wage-earning experience in automotive or heavy equipment repair or maintenance.
  • Correctional custody or law enforcement experience preferred.

Salary: $4,521.33 per month.
