Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous
  • Experience with computer data entry is preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification or experience is a plus
  • Prior experience in a laboratory setting is desirable
  • BLS certification is mandatory

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in phlebotomy methods, patient management, and specimen acquisition
  • Efficient in preparing patients and collecting specimens for a variety of tests
  • Proficient in conducting laboratory tests and documenting the flow of patient specimens
  • Ensures a safe working environment while adhering to safety regulations
  • Responsible for processing and sending specimens as required
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Competencies:

  • Adheres to established protocols and standards for phlebotomy and specimen collection
  • Conducts waived laboratory tests in accordance with established guidelines
  • Accurately manages patient orders and documentation
  • Processes specimens in line with protocols
  • Implements patient safety standards in laboratory practices
