To provide exceptional patient care and support to wound healing patients, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Assistant. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work closely with wound care nurses to facilitate examinations, prepare examination rooms, and administer immunizations. Your attention to detail and ability to multitask will be essential in ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare examination rooms and patients for wound care examinations
  • Administer immunizations and perform limited procedures as directed
  • Assist wound care nurses during examinations and provide support as needed
  • Perform simple dressing changes, measure wounds, and document photographic evidence
  • Facilitate communication with nursing staff, physicians, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Two years of direct patient care experience, preferably in an outpatient healthcare setting
  • Current State of Wisconsin Certification as a Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
