Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Instructor to join our team at Community Residences. As a Residential Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive living environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Individualized Plans: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized plans of care that cater to the unique needs and goals of each client.
  2. Provide Direct Support: Offer direct support and care to clients, including assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, and transportation.
  3. Facilitate Community Integration: Encourage and facilitate community integration by accompanying clients on outings and activities, promoting socialization and independence.
  4. Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment: Ensure the home and surrounding areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained, adhering to agency policies and regulatory standards.
  5. Communicate Effectively: Develop and maintain effective communication with clients, families, and colleagues, ensuring a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience in the field of human services.
  • Valid CT driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to lift and transfer 70-75lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
